Before you or your children start at any martial arts club, always as the following questions of the coaches: 1) Are you affiliated to the National Governing Body? 2) Are your qualifications and certifications for all coaches valid (and can I see these)? 3) Can I please see your DBS certificate? 4) What are the contact details of your club welfare officer? 5) Can I please see your accident book? If you don’t get a positive response to these, it is time to turn around and look for a club that puts its players first.
