Newport Primary KS2 LAMDA Club
Our 1-hour KS2 LAMDA Club for Years 3–6 at Newport Primary School helps children build confidence, communication and performance skills in a fun, supportive environment. Children choose either the LAMDA Acting or Speaking in Public syllabus, working towards an internationally recognised LAMDA examination each year. Acting students develop and perform a monologue, while Public Speaking students research, write and deliver their own speech with confidence. Through engaging drama activities, voice work and presentation skills, children develop creativity, stage presence, clear communication and self-belief. Acting students develop a short monologue, while Verse & Prose students learn to perform a poem and a prose extract with expression, clarity and confidence. Our very popular LAMDA club runs on Friday lunchtimes. Pupils will learn techniques to enable them to be confident performers and communicators. All pupils will work on Acting or Public Speaking, pupils have the opportunity to take a LAMDA exam once per year, either at The Drama Centre HQ in Chelmsford in April - or in LAMDA HQ in West London in the summer. This club has been so popular that a waiting list is in place, please don't delay in booking. Higher grades obtain Duke of Edinburgh skills section credits and UCAS points. Available for years 3 - 6. Teachers will be given a list of pupils attending and sent to lunch early to eat before attending LAMDA club.
