The Birsay Hostel and Campsite is set in the rural northwest corner of the Orkney Mainland, close to the village of Birsay. Nearby are spectacular coastline with quiet beaches and several of Orkney’s famous neolithic sites, the dramatic cliffs of Marwick Head, RSPB reserves , Earl’s Palace, Barony Mill , Kirbuster Farm Museum and the tidal Island of the Brough of Birsay.

Birsay village is a 10-15 minute walk and has the Palace ruins to explore, a small shop and the beach, at low tide you can also head over to the Broch of Birsay (keep an eye on the tide!) or you can go on a coastal walk to the whalebone.
