Sing and Sign baby signing classes in... Kings Lynn It was 12 years ago when I first fell in love with the Sing and Sign programme through taking my own son to classes where we lived in Hertfordshire at the time. I had tried out quite a few classes in my local area, but there was something special about this one; the whole structure of the session which included lots of great songs, props, musical instruments and a chance to meet other families whilst my child had fun. The songs which relate to day to day events and routines, and signs were very easy to learn. Soon my little boy began to communicate with me. I will never forget the joy I felt the first time he signed 'more' at 7 months old whilst I was blowing bubbles for him -a clear favourite! After lots of practice, very soon more signs started to develop such as 'all gone', 'drink', 'milk', 'eat', 'plane'. It was so lovely being able to give my baby the chance to communicate with me at such an early age before he was even able to talk. Therefore, reducing his frustration at not being understood. Obviously through using the signs and words together, he has now developed a large vocabulary and doesn't stop talking!! :-D
