Welcome to the Kumon Cambridge West Study Centre. The centre supports students of all ages and abilities, many of which attend local schools and live in the surrounding community. Others travel from the nearby areas of Cambourne, Histon, Coton, Girton, and Milton. The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study. Through daily completion of the Kumon worksheets students develop good study habits and key skills such as concentration, stamina, perseverance, and independent learning. Students receive a free assessment before embarking upon their individualised programme of study, and will then attend the centre up to twice a week, with work to complete at home over the rest of the week. Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.
