I’m Georgie - an NHS midwife and certified infant massage instructor. I created Held with Georgie as I really wanted to create a space for mums to come and slow down, unwind and connect with their babies, and each other! After having my son, someone described the postnatal experience to me as “postnatal discombobulation” — and I couldn’t have put it better myself! Becoming a parent is an incredibly joyful experience, but it also brings a mammoth shift.

Your whole world changes, and alongside the love and excitement comes huge adjustment, uncertainty and, often, loneliness. There is so much to navigate, yet we live in a society where the traditional “village” can feel out of reach, leaving many of us feeling isolated when we need support the most. Having worked within the NHS for nearly 10 years, I’ve seen first-hand how postnatal care has become increasingly stretched, leaving families with less support in such a critical time. Infant massage offers so much more than the massage itself. It gives you the opportunity to slow down and connect with your baby through nurturing touch, while creating space to meet other parents.
