exam preparation as well as build confidence and independence. A varied approach is offered which includes 1:1 support and independent learning provision. Our maths, English and science programmes are flexible and tailored to learners’ individual needs and abilities so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. Ongoing assessments are carried out to measure progress and enable Emma to adapt learning programmes accordingly. The ‘little and often’ approach is recommended and 10-15 minutes per day homework is provided to encourage repetition and practice.

The English programme concentrates on all aspects of the curriculum: reading, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, creative writing and handwriting. The initial diagnostic testing assesses the child's needs so that an individualised programme of learning can be developed.
