Helping students strengthen their communication skills, confidence, and self-expression through acting, public speaking, and imaginative drama activities. Saturday LAMDA Old Court Theatre (Secondary ages)
LAMDA Classes at The Drama Centre Our LAMDA classes at The Drama Centre develop confident, articulate speakers through structured training in communication, performance and presence. Classes follow the LAMDA syllabus while prioritising confidence, clarity and self-belief. Each session includes vocal and physical warm-ups to support strong posture, breath control, clear speech and effective body language. Students work on speaking with confidence, expression and intention, developing skills that support both exams and everyday communication. Students prepare LAMDA exam pieces in a supportive group setting, receiving individual coaching from experienced teachers. We focus on technique, understanding content, connecting with an audience and managing nerves. Alongside exam preparation, students build resilience, focus and self-confidence. Progress is steady and encouraging, with no pressure — just clear guidance and consistent support.

Students will get to study either Public Speaking or Acting LAMDA. This class is mixed for maximum benefit (Public Speakers progress more quickly in emotion when mixed with the Public Speakers, Actors progress more quickly with analysing texts when mixed with the Public Speakers - age range is capped at 6 - 12 years old). Classes are kept small for more 1:1 time with the teaching team. We work on confidence building, voice, body language, emotion, speech structure as well as prepping all students for the knowledge section of the LAMDA exams. Students do not have to take LAMDA exams, however, they will be offered an exam once per academic year.

Thursday Cathedral LAMDA Club
Our very popular LAMDA club runs on Thursday lunchtimes at Cathedral school. Pupils will learn techniques to make them confident performers. It is fun and high energy, exactly what a lunchtime club should be. All pupils will work on Acting or Public Speaking. Pupils have the opportunity to take a LAMDA exam once per year. Perfect for those who are thinking about boosting confidence before secondary school, also the higher grades of LAMDA earn UCAS points.

Monday LAMDA Club at Maltese Road Primary School
Build confidence, communication skills and creativity in our exciting weekly LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) classes at Maltese Road Primary School. Designed for children in Years 2–6, these fun and engaging sessions help pupils develop self-confidence, vocal skills and performance ability through a mixture of acting, public speaking, drama games and confidence-building activities. Whether your child loves performing or simply wants to become a more confident communicator, LAMDA provides valuable life skills that support learning both inside and outside the classroom. Pupils can choose to study either Acting or Speaking in Public , with the opportunity to work towards internationally recognised LAMDA examinations each year if they wish. Exams are optional. Monday from 3:15pm–4:15pm and are led by experienced LAMDA teachers. Sessions are welcoming, inclusive and suitable for complete beginners to experienced performers.
