Saturday LAMDA Old Court Theatre (Secondary ages)
LAMDA Classes at The Drama Centre Our LAMDA classes at The Drama Centre develop confident, articulate speakers through structured training in communication, performance and presence. Classes follow the LAMDA syllabus while prioritising confidence, clarity and self-belief. Each session includes vocal and physical warm-ups to support strong posture, breath control, clear speech and effective body language. Students work on speaking with confidence, expression and intention, developing skills that support both exams and everyday communication. Students prepare LAMDA exam pieces in a supportive group setting, receiving individual coaching from experienced teachers. We focus on technique, understanding content, connecting with an audience and managing nerves. Alongside exam preparation, students build resilience, focus and self-confidence. Progress is steady and encouraging, with no pressure — just clear guidance and consistent support.

Wednesday Old Court - LAMDA 6 - 12 and SEND
Students will get to study either Public Speaking or Acting LAMDA. This class is mixed for maximum benefit (Public Speakers progress more quickly in emotion when mixed with the Public Speakers, Actors progress more quickly with analysing texts when mixed with the Public Speakers - age range is capped at 6 - 12 years old). Classes are kept small for more 1:1 time with the teaching team. We work on confidence building, voice, body language, emotion, speech structure as well as prepping all students for the knowledge section of the LAMDA exams. Students do not have to take LAMDA exams, however, they will be offered an exam once per academic year.

Through role play, improvisation and storytelling, children explore character, emotion and creativity while learning how to work collaboratively and respond in the moment. Classes are fun, purposeful and well structured, with individual attention given within the group.
