Hi there - welcome to Musical Bumps in Central Bedfordshire. We offer top quality friendly music classes with traditional songs & lullabies, musical games & percussion from around the world. It's all about the singing!! Come and join Alex for musical fun and games, learn lots of new songs, play with puppets, props and instruments and move to the music. Our classes grow with your children and are carefully planned to support each stage of development

– looking at social skills, early literacy and numeracy, school-readiness and those all-important musical skills too! Our classes start with Musical Bumps for Babies - gentle, relaxed classes for babies with soothing songs and lullabies suitable from birth to around 12 months old. Our other classes are lovely and lively and involve actions, clapping, dancing and singing, as well as puppets, props and percussion. There are age specific classes as well as an Intergenerational class held in a care home. Siblings are always welcome, and there is the option of booking a trial class (subject to availability). Our next term starts from Monday 7th September and runs to Friday 16th October. Intergenerational classes are held on 9th & 23rd Septem

Musical Bumps for 3yrs+, Haynes West End

Our pre-school classes are suitable for children from around 3yrs. The groups are kept smaller than the younger stages - usually no more than 8 children and are slightly shorter in length. A typical class develops specific musical skills and concepts including opportunities for solo singing and playing percussion - all through fun and games. Some basic music notation is also introduced through these games. Classes lay a solid foundation for future instrumental lessons, and help to prepare the children for their school days to come. The children have no idea they are doing anything but fun and play! The level of involvement of parents/carers is completely down to the child and what is best of them. Parents / Carers usually start off classes being actively involved but will participate less as time goes on.

This is a lively class as toddlers join in with actions, clapping, singing and dancing! Although each class follows a structure, we don’t expect children to sit still; we encourage them to respond to the music in the right way for them. Adults are encouraged to participate fully – children are more engaged and involved when they see their special adult joining in too! We sing songs for counting, songs that rhyme, action songs and singing games. There are puppets and percussion for each child every week.

Gentle, relaxed classes for babies with soothing songs and lullabies! Our baby classes are specifically aimed at pre-mobile babies and are suitable from birth to approx 12 months old. Although the class has a gentle structure, it is absolutely baby-led so sleeping, noisy and hungry babies are all welcome. Our baby classes involve musical activities, rhymes and singing for around 35 minutes with an additional time for chat during the class (so approx 45mins in total), ending with cuddles and quiet lullabies. "We really love going to musical bumps! Alex is brilliant. It's a small friendly class and not overwhelming or overstimulating. It gives us lots of ideas for playing at home. Thank you Alex!".
