Teacher - Maddy Ballet Technique: A class designed to take alongside one of our regular ballet classes. We focus on technique and artistry following the Royal Ballet ATAP programme. Students gain a greater understanding of technique, performance skills, as well as learning about choreography and studying ballets like Alice in Wonderland, Swan Lake and many more.
A ballet class for those with previous dance experience. This class builds on current dance knowledge, stregnth and technique. Dancers are required to take an additional class of , musical theatre, jazz, acro, street, contemporary or lyrical to assist progression. New to ballet? Please contact us before booking a trial
Teacher - Jaz Acro Acro is dance based gymnastics. Students will start with the basics and then build from that foundation. This class is perfect for children who cartwheel everywhere! It strengthens, increases flexibility and fitness!
Teacher - Jaz Competition Team If your child enjoys performing and would love to work on these skills, the comp team might be a perfect fit. Learn to work as a team in a creative and supportive environment. 1 lesson per week - students learn routines and prepare for competitions and performance events. Usually 2/3 events per term. The team is a year long commitment. Students must do at least 3 classes in addition to the team lessons. This class is an invitation only if you are interested please speak to us.

Our Intermediate Acro class is designed for children aged approximately 9-12yrs, however, placement is also ability-based, so some younger or older students may be better suited to this level. In this class, students continue developing their acro technique whilst building strength, flexibility and conditioning. Dancers work on progressing skills such as balances, limbers, walkovers, handstands, cartwheels and partner work, whilst improving control, coordination and confidence. Classes are fun, challenging and supportive, with students encouraged to progress safely at their own pace under the guidance of our experienced and qualified teaching team. Children are assessed regularly to ensure they are in the most suitable class for their ability and progression.
SDA's recreational classes are designed for children aged 16 months and up. Our sessions offer a fantastic way for kids to stay active, learn exciting routines, and make new friends in a lively and enjoyable environment. Join as many classes as you wish, switch them each half term, and experience the joy of dance without any extra commitments. It’s all about having fun while keeping fit! Lyrical combines contemporary, ballet, jazz and modern. The focus is on story telling through dance, using the lyrics to to influence choreography.
Ability Dependent: Please ask if you are new to tap and we are happy to help you further your dance skills. Dancers will work on focussing their technique and sounds to create rhythms and performances to different pieces of music whilst adding their own style.
Teacher - Jaz Modern From our tiniest dancers to our seniors, modern is a brilliant foundation for contemporary, commercial and jazz. Learn the foundations of these techniques which in turn will really progress skills needed for multiple dance styles. Taught in age appropriate creative ways to get the very best results for the students.
The combined Jazz and Acrobatics class is a great opportunity to develop skills in performance techniques, teamwork, and creative movement. It blends the energy of jazz with the flexibility and strength of acro, offering a dynamic and fun class. This class can be nicely paired with Ballet, Contemporary, or other styles, creating an exciting way to grow a broad and creative skillset. Dancers will learn and develop: Kicks, leaps, cartwheels, forward rolls, handstands, bridges and more This class start from school Year 2

With scripts provided and groups split into junior and senior sections, the week builds to a spectacular showcase at SDA on Friday at 2:30pm 1 ticket per child is included in the cost, extra tickets available to purchase. Teacher - Jess Pointe Please speak with your ballet teacher before joining this class. Pointe is for students that do at least 2 ballet classes a week and are physically and mentally ready for the class. We slowly develop and build pointe skills making sure students have a very solid foundation and understanding of the technique. Students must do a demi pointe class first before joining a pointe class.
