Piano lessons for children As a piano teacher with over 30 years experience, I firmly believe in building a strong foundation upon which to build musical knowledge. This ensures a solid understanding of written music and also the ability to listen to and understand music. I find this not only results in happy children who enjoy their lessons, but children who enjoy playing and practicing independently at home. My approach results in a level of enthusiasm that helps children reach their full potential and achieve good exam results. I teach piano to children from around 7 years old. Generally speaking, from this age the children will have developed the concentration and aptitude that will result in their thorough enjoyment and appreciation of both playing the piano and learning to read music, opening up a whole new world for them.
