work with our younger students, before they move up to the independent study area. Study of the Kumon Maths and English Programmes help each child develop self-learning skills, enabling them to tackle challenging work without reliance on a teacher. At Kumon, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work. These skills will support children to easily grasp new topics in school and approach examinations such as the multiplication tests, SATs, GCSEs and their 11+ exam in the most effective and efficient ways.
