The centre has been running since 1997 and over that time, it has helped hundreds of students from in and around Basingstoke grow in confidence and ability at maths and English.
The current students at the study centre range in age from five up to 16 years old, although Kumon caters for children of all ages. The centre has different work areas for maths and English, with different tables for the different levels of work. There are assistants working

on each table to support the students in their work. The majority of the assistants have studied Kumon themselves so are well aware of any concerns faced by the students.
There is a range of books at the centre that students can read to complement their worksheet study. There is also a table devoted to extra mathematical activities.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.
