Get immersed in a wonderful world of singing, movement and sensory activities as we explore music in a fun, imaginative and multi-sensory way. From beat keeping to discovering all the wonderful sounds our voices can make, everything we do has a musical purpose. Our sessions include: Short, easy to learn songs for all occasions – food, weather, animals and more Movement with every song – skipping, jogging, jumping, moving like cats, mice, elephants and more! Vital social skills such as turn taking on our instruments and sharing favourite teddies Stretchy Lycra fun – working together to make the froggy jump from the pond! Building on the foundation laid previously, children continue discovering and mastering increasingly advanced concepts, learning the nuts and bolts of music practically through continued whole-body movement, singing and games. Along the way, they continue to develop: Confidence using their voices Listening skills-tuneful singing with age-appropriate technique Sense of beat and rhythm Early instrumental and ensemble skills Musicianship – hands-on understanding of music theory Rhythm and pitch notation Sight reading Writing music from dictation Improvising and composing As they progress through KS2 and beyond, our classes work perfectly alongside instrumental lessons. Music Explorers – the first step in our program for school-age kids. For kids in Reception & kids in Year 1 new to Vivace. Whether they have been singing with us in our toddler classes or want to dive into the world of music for the first time, this is a great place to start! Active and structured, in our tried and tested program we play lots of singing games to help children Discover their singing voices and gain confidence using them Develop a sure feel for all the dimensions of music Beat and rhythm Pitch Tempo Dynamics Work together as a team, whether in a game or on instruments Our Music Passport helps them track all their progress. Each new discovery earns a badge to remind them of the skills they've learnt and the songs or rhymes they used to unlock them - a great way to share their achievements with family, friends and teachers.
