Independent Ballet is designed for children aged 4 years and over who are ready to attend class independently in a fun and supportive environment. While parents and carers remain within the venue, dancers build confidence, responsibility, and self-belief as they learn on their own. Classes focus on developing ballet technique, posture, balance, coordination, musicality, and spatial awareness, while introducing correct ballet terminology to support future progression. Through engaging activities, props, and creative movement, children continue to develop confidence, focus, perseverance, teamwork, and a lifelong love of dance. Uniform is not compulsory at Starz; anything comfortable to dance in is perfect. We also offer a beautiful range of tutus and dancewear through our website, and teachers can assist with ballet shoe fittings if required.

Mixed Ages Ballet

Our Mixed Age Ballet class is a magical introduction to dance for children aged 6months to 4yrs. Perfect for little ones and siblings to enjoy together, this fun-filled class combines music, movement, imagination, and sensory play in a warm and nurturing environment. Parents and carers join in the adventure, creating precious memories while supporting their child's development. Through engaging activities, props, and simple ballet movements, children build confidence, coordination, creativity, and social skills, all while having lots of fun! There’s no pressure to be perfect; every child is encouraged to learn at their own pace and celebrate their achievements. Our positive and supportive approach helps little dancers develop independence, self-belief, and a lifelong love of movement. There is no compulsory uniform at Starz; children can wear anything comfortable that they can move freely in. We also offer a beautiful range of dancewear & teachers can assist with fitting ballet shoes.

Tap & Dance Starz KS2

Dance Starz & Tap combines the energy and creativity of modern dance with the rhythm and technique of tap, with dancers enjoying 45 minutes of each class on alternate weeks. Set to popular chart music, Dance Starz explores contemporary, street, and jazz-inspired styles, developing confidence, musicality, flexibility, fitness, coordination, teamwork, and creativity through exciting choreography. In Tap Starz, dancers learn the foundations of tap, developing rhythm, timing, coordination, balance, and control while building confidence and having fun. Following our structured syllabus, children are continually challenged to progress in a supportive and encouraging environment where they can make friends and develop a lifelong love of dance. Uniform is not compulsory; leggings and a t-shirt or school PE kit are perfect. Personalised Dance Starz t-shirts and tap shoes are available, just let us know if you'd like to buy!

Starz Ballet®️ KS1/2

Designed for school-aged children from Reception and up, this class is the final stage of our ballet progression pathway. Dancers build on the foundations developed in our younger classes, growing in confidence, technique, and their understanding of ballet. This structured 45-minute class develops posture, balance, coordination, musicality, strength, and flexibility while introducing more advanced ballet movements and challenges. Children are encouraged to think creatively, contribute ideas, and express themselves through movement and choreography. Working independently and as part of a team, dancers develop confidence, communication skills, and a sense of achievement in a fun, positive, and inspiring environment. Uniform is not compulsory; anything comfortable to dance in is perfect. We also offer a beautiful range of tutus and dancewear through our website, and teachers can assist with ballet shoe fittings if required.

Introduction to Independent Ballet

Our Intro to Independent Ballet class is the perfect next step for children who are ready to dance independently while still having the reassurance of their parent or carer nearby. Building on the foundations learned in our Mixed Age classes, dancers begin to focus more on ballet technique while continuing to learn through music, movement, imagination, and fun. Children take part independently while parents watch from the side, helping them build confidence, coordination, and a deeper understanding of ballet. This class is a fantastic stepping stone towards fully independent classes, developing listening skills, teamwork, independence, and self-confidence. Uniform is not compulsory; anything comfortable that allows freedom of movement is perfect. We also offer a beautiful range of dancewear, and teachers can assist with ballet shoe fittings if required.
