Students are invited to attend a maximum of two sessions per week where they are supported with their studies by a team of assistants. The assistants are all studying locally either for A levels

or university courses. They possess a variety of areas of expertise including A levels in maths and English.
We aim to develop students’ study skills and encourage a ‘have a go’ policy which engenders independence and confidence in learning and translates to other areas of the young people’s studies beyond the subjects studied at Kumon.
The centre welcomes any age of young person. Our younger members are supported in a dedicated area where more interaction with the assistants takes place and where we develop independent study skills before they move to the main class.
The centre also offers a dedicated area for students who find independent study and self-motivation more challenging. We have an assistant available to help maintain focus and deal with individual questions promptly.
