Act II Theatre Company
Act II Theatre Company was formed in 2004 by Karl Gernert; the company became a partnership between Karl and Charlotte Graper in 2009. The company has extensive experience working in schools providing lunchtime, after school clubs and curriculum teaching to a wide variety of participants, in drama and music based activities. We can work with schools to produce whole school productions, or smaller performances. Act II also has an excellent reputation for delivering music and drama activities to young people and adults with additional needs. Organisations we have worked with include SENSE, NCH and Goldhay Arts. In addition, Act II runs in-house classes for young people at our studio space in Spalding, for ages 6mths - 20yrs. These serve as an excellent training ground for children wishing to go on to further education and careers in the performing arts. Act II pride themselves on providing a range of different theatrical experiences for young people, from a production of the musical Bat Boy on a farm, to a promenade production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe around Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens, to a production of the hit musical Made In Dagenham in the South Holland Centre using a digitally projected set. Further to the youth work, the partners write and produce original theatre, particularly children's theatre. The company has performed at a number of professional venues and festivals.
