Our Junior Modern class for dancers aged 9–12 introduces children to a dynamic and expressive style of dance that blends the grace of ballet with energetic jumps, turns, travelling steps and storytelling through movement. Following the internationally recognised ISTD Modern syllabus, dancers develop strength, flexibility, coordination and musicality while learning to perform with confidence and expression. Classes focus on building excellent dance technique, rhythm and performance skills in a fun, supportive environment. Modern dance is the perfect complement to ballet training, helping dancers become stronger, more versatile performers while encouraging creativity and individuality. With small class sizes and personalised teaching, every dancer is supported to progress at their own pace and reach their full potential.

Our Teens Contemporary class for dancers aged 13+ offers a creative and inspiring space to develop artistry, confidence and technical skill. Following the Ofqual-regulated Rambert Grades syllabus, dancers explore expressive movement while continuing to build strength, flexibility, coordination and musicality. Classes combine contemporary technique with creative exploration, encouraging dancers to interpret music, develop their own movement quality and perform with confidence and authenticity. Contemporary is a fantastic complement to ballet training, helping dancers become versatile, expressive performers while developing resilience, creativity and a deeper understanding of movement. With small class sizes and supportive teaching, every dancer is encouraged to challenge themselves, discover their unique artistic voice and enjoy being part of a welcoming community of like-minded dancers.

Tuesday - Teens Contemporary Dance

Grade 3 Wednesday Ballet is the perfect introduction to Herts Dance Studio for children aged 9 - 10 who want explore ballet in a warm, welcoming and inspiring environment. Founded in the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus, dancers develop basic technique, strength, posture and musicality while growing in confidence and making lasting friendships. With small class sizes, every child receives individual attention and encouragement to progress at their own pace. Students may also participate in our annual studio show and watching weeks for parents Looking for more in-depth training? Dancers wishing to work towards RAD Ballet examinations can add our Monday Ballet class as part of our Full Ballet Training Pathway , providing additional weekly training, personalised coaching and a clear pathway for long-term development.

Wednesday - Grade 3 Ballet (Weekly Programme)

Pre-Junior Ballet & Modern is designed for children aged 7–9 who are ready to build strong dance foundations in a fun, supportive and inspiring environment. With classical ballet at the heart of every lesson, dancers develop excellent technique, posture, strength and musicality through the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus while also enjoying the energy, creativity and performance skills of ISTD Modern . Together, these styles improve coordination, flexibility, confidence and artistic expression, creating well-rounded dancers. Our small class sizes ensure every child receives individual attention, encouragement and the opportunity to progress at their own pace in a welcoming and friendly environment. With small class sizes and personalised teaching, every dancer is supported to progress at their own pace in a friendly and encouraging environment. Looking for more in-depth training? Dancers wishing to take their ballet further can add our Friday Intermediate Foundation & Pointe class as part of our Full Ballet Training Pathway, working towards RAD examinations and, when ready, progressing safely towards pre-pointe and pointe work.

Tuesday - RAD Intermediate Foundation & Pointe (Full Training)

Our Tiny Dancers ballet class is thoughtfully designed for children aged 3–4, introducing the magic of dance through creativity, music, imagination and play. Each child is welcomed into a warm, nurturing environment where they begin to explore the foundations of ballet while building confidence, coordination, balance and independence. Using beautiful music, exciting props and storytelling, every class captures young imaginations while developing listening skills, creativity and a love of movement. With small class sizes and plenty of individual encouragement, every child is supported by our experienced teacher Angelam alongside our wonderful Senior Class Assistants, many of whom began their own dance journey with us at a similar age. Tiny Dancers also have the opportunity to perform in our annual studio show and celebrate their progress with family during our special Little Performers Showcase, creating memories they'll treasure for years to come.
