Our Intro to Independent Ballet class is the perfect next step for children who are ready to dance independently while still having the reassurance of their parent or carer nearby. Building on the foundations learned in our Mixed Age classes, dancers begin to focus more on ballet technique while continuing to learn through music, movement, imagination, and fun. Children take part independently while parents watch from the side, helping them build confidence, coordination, and a deeper understanding of ballet. This class is a fantastic stepping stone towards fully independent classes, developing listening skills, teamwork, independence, and self-confidence. Uniform is not compulsory; anything comfortable that allows freedom of movement is perfect. We also offer a beautiful range of dancewear, and teachers can assist with ballet shoe fittings if required.

I'm Steve - a parent, storyteller, musician and drama facilitator who's spent 25+ years working in education. I've seen how play transforms kids: quiet ones finding their roar; energetic ones channeling creativity into magical worlds. I run storytelling and drama workshops, classes in nurseries and schools, intergenerational sessions in care homes, birthday parties as well as 1-2-1 confidence tutoring for ages 0-7 across Brighton. I believe playful, curious children become confident, empathetic adults. Early years are when we learn to ask questions, try new things, and see through others' eyes - the foundation for lifelong confidence and empathy.

Little Light Shimmers, where one adult watches. Our Little Light Shimmers classes are designed for children aged 3–5 years — a gentle next step on their ballet journey. In these sessions, little dancers begin to explore more detailed ballet movements while continuing to enjoy the magic, music and imagination at the heart of Little Lights. This class is loved by both children and parents alike. Grown-ups are invited to stay and watch as their child’s confidence blossoms and their creativity shines through. Each week, children build on their listening skills, independence and coordination while learning short choreographed dances. They begin to discover how movement, music and storytelling can express feelings and ideas — all while twirling, leaping and laughing with new friends.
