Across the programme, performers train in six key areas: **The Actor** Developing stagecraft, character, text work, improvisation, voice, movement and truthful performance. **The Screen Performer** Learning how to perform naturally for camera, including screen acting, eyelines, marks, continuity, scene work and playback. **The Musical Performer** Building confidence in singing, movement, choreography, song interpretation, dance calls and ensemble performance. **The Auditioner** Practising monologues, cold reads, scripts, self-tapes, slates, recall technique and audition confidence. Voice training and accent coaching. **The Creative** Exploring devising, writing, directing, storytelling, film making and creating original stage and screen work. **The Professional** Understanding the habits that help young performers thrive: preparation, resilience, teamwork, receiving notes, industry etiquette, safeguarding and responsible social-media awareness. By the end of each term, performers will have created and developed a range of work that may include polished stage scenes, filmed screen scenes, self-tapes, monologues, musical-theatre performance pieces and portfolio/showreel material. They will also receive individual feedback and clear next-step targets to support their continued progress. TPA Next Stage is not simply another drama class. It is a focused, ambitious and supportive training environment for young people who want to become stronger performers across stage and screen — while developing the confidence, creativity and professionalism that will support them wherever their journey takes them. Places are limited to ensure every performer receives meaningful coaching, individual feedback and opportunities to develop their own unique strengths. Throughout the programme, performers will also develop their vocal technique through dedicated voice training, including breath control, projection, clarity, articulation and vocal stamina. Accent coaching will help performers explore regional and character accents safely and confidently, supporting stronger character choices, more believable performances and greater versatility for stage, screen and auditions. Throughout the year, Next Stage performers will also benefit from exciting additional opportunities designed to deepen their training. These may include specialist workshops with industry guests, recording sessions, casting-director visits, masterclasses, theatre trips and other creative experiences that bring the world of professional performance to life. TPA Next Stage has its own dedicated training uniform. Every performer who is offered a place on the programme will receive an exclusive Next Stage training T-shirt, worn as part of their weekly training and representing their place within this focused company of young performers. Entry to TPA Next Stage is by audition only. This is a high-level training programme for committed young performers who are ready to be challenged, supported and pushed towards their individual potential. Auditions help us create the right group dynamic and ensure that every performer can train at the level the programme is designed to deliver.
