Tap is all about rhythm... and making lots of noise... which we all know, children love to do!! It's origins are many and varied. Americans claim its origin dates from the African Jazz age. The Irish stake their claim to the Jigs and Step Dancing. The English relate back to northern Clog Dancers but whichever one you choose to believe, tap is as popular today as it was in the heyday of the great Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly musicals. We follow the IDTA syllabus, and enter our pupils for examinations once they are ready.

Welcome to EKR Dance Academy, we are a family run dance school we offer children’s dance classes in a variety of styles for all abilities from the age of 2-18yrs. We hold IDTA annual examinations, performance opportunities and participate in competitions throughout the year. Principals: Emma Roberts & Katie Langley.
