ISTD Grade 2 ballet, designed for students with prior dance experience, builds upon foundational techniques and introduces more complex movements. The syllabus includes warm-up exercises, center work with port de bras, allegro (jumps), and a short expressive dance. Students also develop their musicality, spatial awareness, and performance skills. Students in Grade 2 are invited to join the PBT (progressing ballet technique) and pointe work class- working towards their first pair of pointe shoes.
