FGSD was established over 60 years ago, and offers weekly Ballet, Pointe, Tap and Theatre Craft classes for children and adults. The school is a family run business, founded by Freda Gurney. Freda handed the school to her daughter, Kim Jenkins - who now teaches alongside her daughter, Cara. Pupils are prepared and have the opportunity to take IDTA examinations which are held locally every year. These examinations give the students the opportunity to progress in individual grades and medals, and also take part and be examined in team dances. The school continues to enjoy excellent results in all areas.
